CAMPUS
Welcome to Little Explorers, where our 16,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide children with the most comfortable and engaging learning environment. Our facility features in-floor heating throughout to ensure our little walkers and crawlers stay cozy. The classrooms feature painted murals that create an engaging, stimulating environment. Each classroom is equipped with specially designed Amish furniture, "squatty potties," and custom-built sink cabinets tailored to the age groups they serve. The sheltered drop-off area ensures safe, convenient arrival and departure for all. In the following sections, we will explore our indoor and outdoor areas in more detail, as well as the comprehensive safety measures we have implemented to keep our children safe.
Outdoors
Outdoors, our six state-licensed playgrounds feature natural elements like climbers, balance beams made from fallen trees, zip lines, and creative play structures. These spaces help children build strength, balance, and coordination. We believe in the importance of climbing trees and assessing risks, trusting children to know their limits, and encouraging independent exploration. Our trails are filled with hidden gems for balancing, climbing, and discovering new adventures.
Children also meet friendly farm animals—horses, Llamas, sheep, and chickens. —offering hands-on learning and connection. Our outdoor areas invite observation of native birds, insects, and wildlife, fostering curiosity and appreciation for nature. Educators use inquiry-driven, project-based methods to guide exploration of animal care, habitats, and local ecosystems, nurturing resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
Our garden is a place of wonder, where children plant, weed, and harvest alongside educators and parents. The Mud Kitchen, Stick Fort, and adventure playground encourage imaginative play and creativity with natural materials, making every outdoor experience at Little Explorers both educational and magical.
Indoors
At Little Explorers, our thoughtfully designed indoor classrooms maximize each child's learning potential. The six learning centers—dramatic play, construction, art, writing, math, and science—offer engaging spaces for exploration and growth, all aligned with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.
Educators at Little Explorers use project-based, inquiry-driven teaching methods, listening to children's interests and guiding them through research and discovery. This approach helps children develop resourcefulness, persistence, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.
We also emphasize the development of strong social skills, with educators modeling positive character traits and guiding children through conflict resolution techniques to build emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-esteem.
Classrooms
The Amazon, Mediterranean, and Outback classrooms are our infant rooms. Each space is designed to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our youngest learners. All infant rooms are equipped with soft surfaces, age-appropriate toys, and cozy spaces for rest and exploration. Teachers focus on individualized care, sensory experiences, and early social interaction.
Moving up, the Sahara, Tundra, and Wetlands classrooms serve our toddlers. Soft area rugs provide a warm, safe footing for our little crawlers and walkers. Age-appropriate development areas are set up throughout the room for activities such as hand-eye coordination, language, problem-solving, and large-motor skills. Soothing music is playing quietly in the background.
The next rooms to visit are the Andes mountains, Enchanted Forest, and Rainforest C classrooms, which are our 2’s. These rooms are creatively decorated with landscape and animal murals painted on the walls. Many age-appropriate development areas are located throughout the rooms for individual or group activities.
Just beyond are the Congo, Great Plains AB, and Great Plains C classrooms, which are our 3’s. These classrooms are filled with warm shades of brown and gold and feature beautiful murals of natural landscapes. The big windows in our exterior doors let children watch as pasture animals, like llamas or horses, walk right by—less than 10 feet away! Learning centers throughout the rooms offer a wide range of educational and fun, age-appropriate activities.
Our last and largest classrooms are Serengeti A and Serengeti B,
Rainforest
AB, which are our 4’s. These classrooms are decorated in rich green hues and feature colorful murals throughout. There are many areas to explore; the classrooms are filled with age-appropriate learning areas for children to enjoy and challenge themselves.
