Welcome to the Parent Handbook, your comprehensive guide to understanding the policies, procedures, and essential information for your child's experience at Little Explorers.
At Little Explorers Preschool, we understand the importance of well-balanced nutritional meals. Good nutrition is a key component of proper brain and physical development and strength. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are prepared in-house and served family-style. This approach gives children hands-on opportunities to practice taking turns, sharing, passing food, and setting the table, while also discovering the joys of homemade meals—including organic produce grown right in our own gardens. Through these daily routines, students build social skills and a love for wholesome, homegrown foods. The children at Little Explorers spend a large portion of their days outdoors, running, climbing, and exploring. Given this and the expectations we have for them indoors as well, it is especially important that we give them all the fuel they need to be successful in their day and maintain the mindset to manage a rigorous day full of learning and adventure.

CALENDARS
Our Calendars are filled with exciting experiences, from special visits by local community members and animal experts to themed days, celebrations, and unique events. We invite the entire family to check out the calendar regularly and join in the fun—family participation is always encouraged at Little Explorers Nature Center Preschool!

WAITLIST POLICY
Thank you for your interest in Little Explorers. Due to high demand, we have established a waiting list to ensure fair access to new openings.
If there are no available positions for your child in the appropriate age group, they will be placed on our waiting list upon receipt of your application and enrollment fee*.
Openings will be offered in the following order:
- Families with other children enrolled at Little Explorers
- Children of Little Explorers employees
- Full-time positions
- Chronological order on the waiting list
Once a position becomes available, you will have 3 working days to accept it. To hold the position for more than 2 weeks, the weekly tuition must be paid at the beginning of the 3rd week.
If you are unable to accept a position when offered, you may remain on the waiting list for the next available position. However, if you decline a second offer, your name will be removed from the list to ensure timely service for other families.
